LYNCH FAMILY BELLRINGERS.
A DELIGHTFUL ENTERTAINMENT. It is over 50 years since the Lynch Family of Bellringers first visited New Zealand, hut that the bcUrraging’ presented by them has not lost its charm was proved by the enthusiastic manner in which it was received by the audience at the Theatre Royal last night. Of the original company only two remain, and the Lynch Family has extended into the third generation. while to the present-day audience beilringing is almost a new art. It was good to hear the sweet old melodies on the hand-bells, the silver organ chimes, and the glassophone, so deftly manipulated by Messrs Harry, William and W. W. Lynch. The selections included “The Blue Bells of Scotland,” on the hand-bells; the Bridal March from “Lohengrin,” "Life’s Dream is O’er,” “Till We Meet Again," “Eileen Alannah," “Sweet Adeline.” and “Old Kentucky Home,” on the organ chimes; and “Thou Art so Near,” “Nearer, My God, to Thee,” “Love’s Old Sweet Song,” end “Sleep, Gently Sleep,” on the glassophone. Mdllc. Brighta lc Marchant, a brilliant soprano, with a voice of great power, sang “Roberto tu chc Aclaro,” "Woodland Serenade,” “A String of Pearls ” and "Garden of My Heart," and was warmly recalled. Mr Harry Baxter created much merriment with Iris clever absurdities, “A Woman's Way," “Never Too Old,” “Nancy Lee,” “Wonderful Dad,” “How I Won She D.G.M.,” and a number of encore items. He was extremely popular with the audience. Miss Adie Reynolds was heard in several musical monologues and humorous songs. Mr William Lynch, besides acting as accompanist, gave two piano solos, “Valsc Arabesque” and “Three O’clock in the Morning,” with bell effects. The Lynch Family should have % successful tour of the district. *
