INTER-SCHOOL GAME. TECHNICAL SCHOOLS AT PLAY. A Rugby game at Pukekohe between the Hamilton Technical School first fifteen and the Pukekohe Technical High School was played at Pukekohe. The game was rather spoilt by the rain having made the ground sloppy, and back play was difficult. The bulk of the work, therefore, fell to the. forwards. The game resulted in a win for Pukekohe by eight points to five. The teams were very well matched, Pukekohe if anything having slightly the heavier. From the kick off Hamilton secured and, taking the ball up the field at their feet, managed after some heavy scrummage work in the home twenty-five to gain a try in the first five minutes of play. Hogg converted. Hamilton 5 Pukekohe 0 From then on during the remainder of the first half no other score was registered, the play moving up and down the field in a series of good dribbling rushes. From penalty kicks Pukekohe had several shots at goal, but it was not till near the end of the second quarter that Carter kicked one from a difficult angle. Hamilton 5 Pukekohe 3 During the second spell play again moved from one end of the field to the other. Graham, securing in Hamilton's twenty-five, with a clever run drew the Hamilton backs 1 and then passed to Fallows, who scored near the corner. Carter added the extra points.

Pukekohe 8 Hamilton 5 No other score was added during the remainder of the game. The play was marked by the excellent combination of .the Pukekohe backs (Graham, Fallows and Carter), and the sound defensive and offensive work of Hogg and St. George for Hamilton. Between.the forwards there was little to choose, for whereas' Pukekohe predominated in the pack work the Hamilton forwards had the better of work in the loose. During the day the members of the visiting team were cordially entertained by the officials of the Franklin A. and P. Society and the staff and pupils of the Pukekohe Technical High School.
