The inventor informed a Daily Express representative that [he British Government, had made an on'nv so small that In; could not accept p. He was therefore going to France in Hie morning to proceed with Hie negotiations which a French firm ha 1 opened. " I am sorry lo do hlis." said Mr Matthews, " Iml Hie blame lie's with the British authorities, and not wild me."
It is understood that the British Government's offer embodied a suggestion for further tests. Mr Matthews would no| agree lo a fortnight's delay.
