The trial took place under R.A.C. observation, and occupied ten days. With an average load of 6 tons 9 cwts. and a total running weight of 1 0 tons 19 cwts., the fuel consumption worked out at 1 1.28 m.p.g. over the distance of 1,008 miles. The Oil gave 1,698.7 m.p.g. The Lorry was a 6-ton Q-type Thornycroft with 30 h.p. engine.
