EMPIRE AIR SERVICE.
PROBABLE RECOMMENDATIONS. BURNEY SCHEME STILL ALIVE. (Australian md N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 8, 11.30 a.m. LONDON, May 7. It is learned that the Cabinet committee on airships approve of the construction, and will probably recommend the Government to boar all expenses in establishing a scheme over an experimental period of two years thereafter, and is likely to place at the disposal of private companies the whole data relating to the results achieved. It is pointed out that the fate of the Burney scheme is still in the balance. It is not improbable that the majority of members of the House of Commons, in view of the fact that four committees have hitherto favoured it, will support the adoption of Commander Burney’s proposals.
