HINTS AT A STRIKE. (Australian end N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, May 6. Mr Cook, al Pontypool, referred to the Court of Inquiry upon miners’ wages which had just concluded. He said that unless the Court made some tangible recommendation the inquiry had been a waste of time. He arranged to meet the coal owners on May 14. If the men’s proposals were not satisfied there would be only two alternatives — strike or an appeal to the Government, which had the power to grant the just demands of the men.
