WAIKATO HOSPITAL BOARD.
APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRMAN. MR J. P. BAILEY RE-ELECTED. The appointment of chairman of the Waikato Hospital Board, for the ensuing 12 months, had to be made by the Board to-day. Mr J. P. Bailey, who for the past 14 years has occupied the chair, vacated his seat while the Board made its selection. Three names were proposed—Mi* Campbell Johnstone (proposed by Mr J. J. Ryburn and seconded by Mr W. Alexander), Mr J. P. Bailey (pro-* posed by Mr Blackman, seconded by Mr Wagstaff), and Mr J. J. Ryburn (proposed by Mr A. G. Dent and seconded by Mr Fee. A good deal of discussion centred around the three nominations, and when they were put to the vote, Mr Bailey was re-elected on a vote ol seven to three against Mr Johnstone, Mr Byburn withdrawing his nomination. Mr Bailey thanked the Board for its expression of renewed confidence, and trusted members would give him the same earnest support, as in the past. Mr Johnstone and other members congratulated Mr Bailey on his reappointent, and assured' him of theii loyal support.
