DOG TRIALS.
TE AKAU —WAINGARO CLUB. The Te Akau —Walngaro Sheep Dog Trial Club held their annual trials on the last two days of April and Ist May, but were unfortunate in having wet weather for the three days. In spite of this a large crowd assembled on the second day, including many ladies. Owing to. the railway strike there were few competitors from any great distance. The successful competitors were: —■ The "Seavill Cup (a local event). — C. Parson's Nick 1; T. Morton's Rover 2,
Short Head. —M. Mackey's Stamp 1; R. Paulson's Tip 2; C. Parson's Nick
Long Head. —M. Mackey's Star 1; C. Lissettc's Pard 2; T. P. Hunt's Ned 3. Driving and Yarding- (ladies' bracelet). — M. Mackey's Star 1; T. P. Hunt's Ned 2; R. Paulson's Tip 3. Huntaway.—M. Mackey's Star 1; C. d'Auvorgnc's Wallace 2; C. Lissettc's Black 3. Mr T. Martin 'Of Rototuna, acting as judge, gave every satisfaction. Various weight, guessing competitions were won by: Miss Muriel Eyre, weight of geese; Mr Death and S. Picken. live weight of sheep; J. Seavill and J. Coleman, dead weight J of sheep.
