A conference between t:he Tram-way Board, Trades Hall, and tramway employees' representatives discussed the tram strike to-day. The outlook is now more hopeful. The Sta/te Cabinet has decided no,t to intervene as the Tramway Board has all tfhe necess'ary authority to enforce discipline in Ms service and protect the public. The lack of trams to-day caused great inconvenience. The men tihls evening discussed tlhe proceedings of the conference, wthiidh. have not been madte public. The Tramway Board, after a long discussion with the Trades Hall Disputes Committee and other representatives' of the men, refused to reinstate the gripman involved, and the strike remains unsettled.
