SERIOUS CHARGE.
DEPOSITIONS TAKEN. (By Telegraph—Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, May 6. A parity, consisting of Mr E. Page, SjM. Chief Detective Kemp, land the Olerk of line Court visited Mhe Wellington Hospital to-day l/o 'take the depositions in the case in winch Julia 'Ruddlesden is aharged wil/h unlawfully us'inig an instrument on a single woman, Lucy Josephine Pope, and a young man nuimed Rory Pinny, who is charged with ■procuring Ruddlesden to commit a crime. Miss Pope, in evidence, said tin at accused Pinny was responsible for her condition. Pinny made 'the arrangement and witness visited Ruddlesdon, who performed the operation. She later became ill, and on the advice of Pinny admitted cveryibhing to Dr. Luke, who ordered her removal to the hospital. After witness had completed her evidence Dhe hearing was adjourned, and accused were remanded.
