LABOUR’S DETERMINATION. NEITHER CAJOLED NOR COERCED. READY FOR AN ELECTION. (Australian End N.Z. Cable Assn.) Received May 6, 11.5 a.m. LONDON, May 5. Several —Ministers and Labourite members of the House of Commons, in their week-end speeches, vigorously resented il.be Liberals’ attempt to browbeat Hhe Government over proportional representation. They declared that it was not .intended to intake any terms with Hhe Liberals. Miss Margaret Bondfield, .speaking at Northampton, described the Liberal ultimatum as a political blunder of the fiscal magnitude. She said it was incredible that tiny experienced Parliamentary party could imagine that Labour would- either be cajoled or coerced into altering its programme by a threst of being turned out. They wore ready for an election whenever the Liberals and Conservatives decided to force one.
