CONSERVATIVES’ POLICY. SOCIAL LEGISLATION. CO-ORDINATION OP ACTS. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, May 4. Mr Stanley Baldwin, outlining- the policy of the Conservatives, said they were examining the Insurance, Housing and Factory Acts with a view to co-ordinating legislation. They were also enquiring into retail profits to ascertain whether the people were obtaining food as cheaply as they should. Criticising Labour’s policy, he said the abandonment of the Singapore scheme and the rejection of preferences showed incapacity to take a long view, which often weakens in the leaders of Democracy.
