RUSSIA AND GERMANY.
AN ANGRY AMBASSADOR. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn.) BERLIN, May 4. Immediately after the search of the Russian Embassy the Ambassador, Krestinsky, called at the Foreign Office and energetically protested. Herr Stresemann assured him that the action of the police would bo stopped immediately. The Embassy regards the search as an unparalleled violation of extra territorial rights. Krestinsky, before leaving for Moscow, ordered the closing of the commercial delegates’ offices and interruption of commercial activities for the time being. A strong force of police searched the Russian Embassy building from roof to cellar on the pretext that a Communist, for whom a warrant had been issued, was hiding there. Russian officials assert that the search lasted four hours and that the liberty of the leaders of the delegation, who are members of the diplomatic corps, was interfered with.
