ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
POISONED BY CHLOROFORM. By Telegraph-—Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. The adjourned inquest concerning the death of Henry Wglkcy, who expired while under an anaesthetic yesterday at the Tauniarunui Hospital, was concluded yesterday. Dr. Fisher, the medical superintendent, corroborated the evidence of Drs. Howard and Vivian. The coroner returned a verdict that death was due to cardiac failure, induced by chloroform poisoning, no blame being attachable to anyone. GREYMOUTH, Tuesday. William Dudley, better known in amateur boxing circles as "Flannigan,” was employed as a trolleyman by the Lake Brunner Sawmilling Co. He was outward bound for a load of logs, and it appears that lie had got off the locomotive, and in endeavouring to get aboard again slipped, the engine passing over his head and body. Deceased was only 22 years of age.. He was a game and clever boxer, putting up many good fights under the Greymoulh Boxing Association.
