GLOAMING ON HOLIDAY. The veteran trainer, R. J. Mason, will leave for Sydney this month, accompanied by Mrs Mason. Air Mason finds the New Zealand winter too severe. He is going for a -holiday, and will not take any horses, but it is possible that Gloaming and one or two of his mates will go over later in the year. In the meantime Gloaming is having the spell he needed, after his severe effort in the Challenge Stakes. AUSTRALIAN YEARLINGS. The well-known trainer, J. T. Jamieson, is returning to Auckland by the Maheno to-day, bringing with him li yearlings which he purchased on behalf of clients at the Sydney yearling sales. The youngsters will be taken to Ellerslie on arrival, and it Is understood they will be located there for a short period before being taken to Te Awamutu. The shipment incudes ten colts.
