They lay their eggs on the plant, and the • grubs'- hatch out- in - the. ordinary, way. To control the pest . ragwort,! you must resort to sheep. Grazing cattle on ragwort is, as you probably well know, dangerous to them. It causes poisoning. In addition to grazing sheep on the pastures where ragwort is troublesome, hoeing well below the crown of the plant just before it sets seed is advisable. As soon as the first flowers show it should be cut.
