NGAHINEPOURI.
Tho Dry Spoil. Both tho grub's pnrldocks and tho green crops have suffered greatly from the long- spell of dry weather. Although tho surrounding- districts have had very heavy rain lately, the greater portion of this district has had practically nothing, and the fields are very burnt up. The farmers with heavy damp land have an abundance of feed, but all tho lighter ground is showing the want of rain. This has been rather a bad season for the milkers, as it commenced very wet and cold, and now the shortage of feed has brought the majority of the herds down to practically half in the milk supply. Hay Crops, Haymaking is now very nearly over, this year the crops being fairly light. Last season the farmers could cut almost any of their cow-paddocks and gather a fair crop of hay, but this season there is no spare grass about. Fat Lambs. A great number of fat lambs have been sent to the freezing works from the district during the last few weeks, and appear to be weighing out fairly well, although a number have been going back in condition, due most likely to the want of water.
