The revenue for November totalled £llO2 19s 7d, as against £7-19 for the same month last year. Proposed Conference.

Mr W. F. Furkett, cngineer-in-chief, and Under-Secretary Public Works Department, advised the Board that he had instructed the District Engineer to attend a conference or representatives of the Wailomo Board, the To Awamutu Board, and the Department, with a view lo arranging details TOr the creation of the Waitomo power district. Mr J. Kiernan, secretary Of the provincial committee of the "Waitomo power district, that his committee was agreeable to such a conference, and suggested that it be held at Te Awamutu next week, representation to be three from Tc Awamutu, three from Waitomo, and three from the Kio KIo district, the conference to hear the views of the ratepayers in the Kio Kio district, who have petitioned for inclusion in the Te Awamutu Board's district. It was decided to hold the conference on Friday, January 25 at 11.15 a.m., this Board's delegates to be the chairman and Messrs Sutherland and F. G. Daniel, with Mr C. G. Downes as emergency* General. The manager reported re heating prices. He slated that there were many in this town who only had one heating point, and they were charged on the ordinary lighting rate until they exceeded the assessed load, and he suggested that in all cases where a cooker was installed, over 600 watts, a second meter should be put in. Mr Sutherland quite agreed 'with this suggestion,' and it was decided to Instruct the manager to incorporate this in the Board's system.

The New Zealand Dairy Co. advised that the meter readings at the Te Awamutu Dried Milk Factory for December were: Volts 410, amps 102, K.V.A. 72 35, and units 14,780. As a sequel to the comments at last Monday's meeting of the Waipa County Council, the County Clerk wrote, protesting against what the Council considered an excessive charge in connection with street lighting at Pirongia. One councillor had slated that the Central Power Board charged £3 Gs annually for each street light at Whata Whata and other districts., and as the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board charge was somewhat higher they desired to know the reason why. The secretary-manager stated that the cases were not parallel. The Central Power Board merely supply the light. The Te Awamutu Power Board keeps Ihem in regular repair as well. He had made up the cost of maintenance, and it worked out at £2 per light, which reduced the cost of light lo £3 10s, as against the Central Power Board's charge of £3 6s.—lt was decided to forward this explanation to the "Waipa County Council. Mr Parlane suggested that some demonstrations of the uses of electricity should be given at the forthcoming To Awamutu Show. It seemed lo him that a practical demonstration would do an immense amount of good, as regards advertising. The manager said that there was still some doubt as to whether such action would he taken, and he was still in hopes that it would suce ■:-

fully eventuate. The question of meeting Messrs Fear and Pollard by assisting them in their installation was also discussed. and the chairman of the Works Committee, Mr O. Spinley, and the manager were appointed a sub-committee 1,0 got all necessary (lata and report to next meeting.
