N.Z. SPORTING REVIEW.
This week's issue of the N.Z. Sporting and Dramatic Review is of an incomparably high standard, the illustrations embracing all the most attractive topical events gathered from local and overseas sources. General interest will be taken in the Auckland A. and P. Association's Show at Alexandra Park, a splendid pictorial display of this big fixture being made, showing various competitions in the jumping events. The Whangarei A and P. Show is also the subject of an excellent series of illustrations giving one an idea of the popularity of"this carnival. The Waikato Trotting Club's- meeting is depicted in an attractive set of snapshots covering the leading events, while Ihe concluding day of the Takapuna Jockey Club's meeting has a very interesting showing. The centre pages contain a miscellany of notable figures and topical happenings in the social, theatrical, and sporting world, including American football, motor racing, baseball opening, stud farm at Newport, etc. The sports gathering of the Wellington Centre of N.Z.A.A.A. occupies a strikingly arrayed page, showiag the ladies' handicap and high jump. Laying the foundation stone of the Wellington Gollepe pavilion, the Masonic Hall in Wellington and other interesting features, and Derry's Military Band will attract keen attention. A "fashion page from the famous houses abroad will make a particular appeal to ladies, while a frontispiece of "The Beggars' Opera" and stage and screen celebrities add to the completeness of the number.
