A NOTABLE JOURNALIST.

WASHINGTON. Dec. 11
The death is announced of Mr John Revelstonc Rathom, editor of the Providence Journal for the past 12 years, at the age of 50. Mr Rathom, who was born in Melbourne, Australia, was an outstanding figure in American journalism. During the war he obtained information which led to the expulsion of the German attaches, von Papen and Boy-ed. He underwent ; surgical operation last year, from which he never fully recovered.
