PERSONAL.
Sir Thomas Mackenzie, M.L.C., intends to leave for London by the Corinthic in February. Mr T. B. Booth, who has been on a lengthy tour of America and Europe, returned to Hamilton yesterday. The American Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mr Frank Billings Kellogg as Ambassador to Britain.
Mr A. E. Manning has resigned his membership of the Auckland Education Board and of the Hamilton Technical School advisory committee. The resignation was accepted with regret. Nurses E. L. Ellis and J. O. Morrison, of the Waikato hospital staff, have tendered their resignations. In receiving them at to-day's meeting, the Boa'rd thanked the nurses for their services.
Mr H. Alan Bell, of Cambridge, took his seat on the Waikato Hospital Board to-day, as representative of the combined district of To Awamufej, Cambridge, Morrinsville and Te Aroha Boroughs. The chairman welcomed Mr Bell to the table.
At yesterday's meeting of the Board of Education, it was decided to consult committees as to the following appointments:—Hora Hora, headmaster, Mr W. A. Brown; Waihou, headmaster, Mr F. R. S. Bulien; Karamu, teacher, Mr S- H. Thomas; Hora Hora, assistant, Miss L. M. Phelan; Te Kuiti, D.H. assistant, Miss F. M. Conway-Jones.
