ROME IN JEOPARDY.

RIVER TSEER OVERFLOWS. LONDON, December 7. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Rome correspondent says old Father Tiber threatens Rome with another historic inundation. r riie depth of water is already nearly forty feet, and in many places the river is almost level with the embankment walls. Along the greater part its course through the city of Tiber is level with the streets. At Pontomilvio, where the bridge itself is flooded, water is pouring over, instead of under, the arches. Floods threaten the greater part of Gampagna, where large areas and numerous establishments are ten to twenty feet under water. Lakes not existing previously have appeared between the outskirts of Rome and Ostia.
