WRECK OF THE WAVE.

DRIVEN ON TO A REEF. SEVEN PERSONS MISSING. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Friday. Details by mail with reference to the loss of Lhe Auckland ketch Wave off Naselai (Fiji), show that a gale and heavy sea drove the vessel on to the snore reef, two anchors and a kedge failing to hold her. As seas were sweeping the decks, the captain served out lifebelts and hoisted out a little raft. The Indians swarmed on to it without lifebelts. It capsized, and several of the occupants disappeared. Three European passengers reached the reef, and Major Tottenham and his wife left C. Nettles, a storekeeper of Taviuni, and a Chinaman resting- there and reached the shore after a great struggle. The captain and crew were saved.

Those missing are: —C. Nettles, one Chinaman, an Indian police officer, and four Indians.
