STANDARD OIL COMPANY.
DAMAGES AGAINST SHIPPING CO. LONDON, Nov. 23. The House of Lords awarded the Standard Oil Company of New York 1111,235 damages against the Clan line of steamers for the loss of cargo aboard the Clangonlon, a turret-built ship which turned turtle and sank on Hie voyage from New York to China. The Standard Oil Company was originally awarded £98,000 by tile Lower Court of Scotland, but Hie Court of Session upset Hie judgment, which the Lords lias now restored with an increased award.
