PROTECTION OPPOSEDAustralian and N.Z. Cable Assn. LONDON, Sept. 30. The National Association of the Wool Textile Trade Unions discussed a proposal by a section of the employers for a protective tariff on imported woollen cloth, and passed a resolution that they did not believe that a system of protective tariffs would be a panacea for unemployment in the textile trade. They urged an immediate inquiry by a committee representing the employers and employees and consuming public into the causes of the depression.
