A HAMILTON BRANCH.
yesterday Mr Geo. A. Green, who is a member of the .Auckland Forestry League, interviewed- His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. R. Fow), Cr. J. Gilbert, Mr J. A. Young, M.P., Mr A. M. Bisley (president of the Chamber of Commerce) and other leading citizens, with reference to the formation of a Hamilton branch of this' League. As the Chamber of Commerce has always taken a keen interest in afforestation propaganda here, it was felt fitting that the .Chamber should take the Initiative in' the formation of a local branch of the League. With this object in view Mr Bisiey. h.as very kindly consented to .act as chairman of the local league, while 'Mr R. Nelson, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, will act as local secretary. It is intended as soon as possible to carry on a:press and platform propaganda to create interest In local bodies and the public in the alma and objects of the League. A scheme is also under the consideration of the Chamber which will enable the claims of the League to be brought prominently before every municipality and other local body in the Waikato in connection with a wider , W*ikato publicity scheme.
