A meeting of the School Committees' Association resolved, "That tills association views' with disfavour the persistent assuming by the Education J)epartment of functions formerly discharged by local governing bodies, and ■particularly requests iho restoration to school committees of their rights as' representatives of the parents to have some option in the selection of teachers of their children, of which right they have been deprived owing lo Ihc grading scheme."
