TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH.

REPORT OF FOREMAN AND TURNCOCK.

At the last meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council the foreman reported:—“Since last meeting the following works have been attended to: Main streets have had regular attention; cinders have been placed on the footpaths of Mutu street, College street, part Alexandra street, Bridgeman road; the shingle lias been nearly completed, requiring about three more trucks to complete. The posts that •were taken from the trees fallen at .Mr McGovern’s' have been carted to the yard and stacked. Some manure has been carted up to Victoria Park from the saleyards, and water-pipe on Punui road has been repaired. Repairs have been carried out on Park road, and I would like the Council to order some liin. metal for repairs, as the yard is now empty of all material lor patching. Private drain connections have been tested for the following; Mr 011phant, Alexandra street; Mr llebden, Punui road; Church of England, Araj wata street; Messrs Pomeroy and Co., t Sloan street; district school, Roach j street; Mr MeNaul, Alexandra street.” ; q’he foreman’s report was adopted. r Cr. Peate asked if it would he possible for the foreman in making His ' report to also state the cost of work done, if possible, and tins was adopted. The foreman stated it might be somewhat hard to do it, but lie would 6 -ee what could he done in the matter. The Town Clerk pointed out that as the vouchers for wages did not conic in till afterwards this would ho difficult,; but as an estimate seemed to suit' the case it was left to the foreman to see what ho could do in Ihe mattu. deeded that the town clerk be authorised to order 100 yards of i Jin. metal for patching purposes.
