PROBATION—PROHIBITION.
BREACH OF BOTH. MARRIED MAN WARNED.
About a month ago a young married j man named Albert Arthur Young was convicted and placed on probation for, drunkeness ancl using obscene lang- | uage in Hamilton. At the time he was prohibited but apparently he failed to! observe the terms of his probationary! liscense, and when he appeared before] Mr. H. A. Young S.M., to-day, lie; pleaded guilty to drunkenness, a] breach of his prohibition order and ai breach of his probationary license. His Worship told defendant that in! ordinary circumstances he would have I sent defendant for a term of reformative treatment. In consideration of his wife and children, however, he would give him another' chance and would convict and fine him £1 and costs. At the expiry of the present lerm of three months probation the license would be renewed by a further Iwelve months and defendant would require, on the expiry of the present, prohibition order to renew it by a further 12 months. His Worship warned accused that if he came before the Court again, he would be committed to gaol.
