While asleep, Mr. S. Ileathcoate, a resident of South. Invercargill, had the misfortune to swallow half a set of false teeth. Later in the day he sought medical advice, and was admitted to the" Southland Hospital for X-ray. He was advised to go lo the Dunedin Hospital lo have the teeth extracted, and made the journey by car Dr. Johnston, medical superintendent of the Southland Hospital, stated t,o a reporter that tiie instrument, used in such cases was not n common one, and was kept only by two or fhree or the larger hospitals in the Dominion. The case was not t dangerous one. but the most un■ortunatc circumstance was that the ?an had been put to the expense of laving to go lo Dunedin, by ear.
