SEIZURE OF LARGE SHIPMENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. ROME, August 12. The Kalian authorities at Trieste seized a large steamer about to leave Pola for Jugo Slavia. It was laden with, a million ritles, 23,000 machine guns, and twenty-four mountain batteries They also" detained several persons, including a well-known agitator, who was in touch with the Communists. The arrestees state they purchased surplus materials from various military depots for three million lire, and were to obtain, ten million for the . stuff at Belgrade.
