SURPRISING PHENOMENA.

Mr Justice Beeby, of the Arbitration Court, presiding at a meeting of the Board of Trade, said that the board's declaration of a living wage last April reducing wages and thus cheapening the cost of production, was followed by an upward trend in prices.
