SURPRISING PHENOMENA.
United Press Association. SYDNEY, August 9. Mr Justice Beeby, of the Arbitration Court, presiding at a meeting of the Board of Trade, said that the board's declaration of a living wage last April reducing wages and thus cheapening the cost of production, was followed by an upward trend in prices. He invited representatives of the financial, commercial arid industrial world to submit suggestions or criticism of the phenomena io the board, which has adjourned till the 24 th inst.
