Sawers, and Geo. •' Calvert, who were appointed to go into the matter of obtaining a lease of <.hc Defence properly, reported that Iho Defence Department were quite sympathetic with the scheme, and there would be no trouble about a lease.

After a good deal of discussion on the matter it was decided to give up the old links at the expiration of the present lease, and that steps he taken to secure a lease or the Defence Department property, and the present sub-committee be authorised to make the necessary negotiations with the DepartmentThe G-olf Club is' to be congratulated upon this step, as it is very rare that such a fine course can be obtained within such close proximity io the town, and the extension of the links will allow of large tournaments being held in Cambridge,
