TRAPPING OPOSSUMS.
EXTENSION OF SEASON. . STRONG PROTEST ENTERED. By Telcjrrnph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Thursday. The Internal Affairs Department has extended the trapping season for opossums by two weeks. The Acclimatisation Society debated the action, declaring it most unfair, and that the society should lie consulted. One speaker said that the animals would soon be killed off, as the trappers were destroying male and female. A protest was sen! to Die .Minister.
