At the annual meeting of the Institute of Journalists it was stated that an anonymous person was prepared to donate £IO,OOO towards the £40,000 necessary to establish a chair of journalism at. the university. The management of the Central mine is driving two tunnels under the crest of the bill between the mine and Block X. to enable water to bo poured into the mine. MELBOURNE, August 4. Mr Bruce, referring to the Sumatra report, promised that a thorough inquirv would be held regarding other New" Guinea boats before they were allowed to leave the coast.
