LATE SHIPPING STRIKE.
ACTION AGAINST COMPANY. ALLEGED WRONGFUL DISMISSALS. THE CLAIMS DISMISSED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. An eoho from the last shipping strike was hoard in court when Walsh, Dent and Hart, seamen of Wellington, claimed sums of from £-40 to £44 from the Union Company. They were employed on the Marama, and were discharged when the steamer reached Sydney. According to the plaintiffs there was trouble on the voyage between unionists and non-unionists, and several of the latter were severely injured, and certain men were put ashore in consequence. The magistrate held that there was no wrongful dismissal, and gave judgment for the company.
