METHODIST CIRCUIT.
QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Hamilton Methodist circuit was held in St. Paul's and was largely attended by officials. The Rev W. Ready, superintendent, presided. All the affairs of the churches and schools were duly considered and favourable reports; were given. The congregations in. the various churches showed signs of increased attendance and especially in St Paul's, London Street, where the trustees have had to order new forms to accommodate 100 extra persons. The financial statement was presented by Mr. R. J. Bell, the circuit steward, which was considered highly satisfactory—the income not only paying the ordinary expenses, but also nearly meeting the removal expenses of the two ministers coming into the circuit. Words of welcome to the new Ministers, viz., Revs. W. Ready and F. E. Leadley, were spoken by Mr J. T. Bryant and others. ' -The Trustees of St. Paul's have been active and generous during the quarter, having painted the Hamilton East Parsonage, and St Paul's schoolroom, and replenished the parsonages with necessary furniture etc. Foreign and Home Mission matters were duly considered and the members were exhorted to make earnest and practical efforts to contribute more than they did last year. A new motor car had been secured for the minister of Hamilton East, and the old one renovated for St. Paul's minister. A vote of sympathy was passed with those bereaved and injured in the Main Trunk line disaster. The benediction brought a very successful and hopeful, meeting to a close.
