INDIA AND LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
PROPOSAL TO WITHDRAW. NEGATIVED BY ASSEMBLY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. Received July 10, 11.30 a.m. DELHI, July 15. The Legislative Assembly negatived a motion threatening the withdrawal of support by the Government of India to the League of Nations in consequence or the grievances of Indians in the mandated territories, Fanganyika and ex-German islands of the Pacific. The supporters pointed out that most of the unrest in India was due to the grievances of Indians abroad, but the 'Government speakers retorted that the remedy was worse than the disease, for India must jealously guard her position.in the League of which she is one of the principal members.
