CONTROL OF OPIUM. REGULATIONS RESENTED. MARTIAL LAW PROCLAIMED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Assn. (Received July 9, 10.30 a.m.) TEHERAN, July S. Martial law has been proclaimed ia Ispahan, owing to the refusal of opium merchants to conform to the Persian Government's regulations, ordering all dealings in the drug to be conducted under supervision of the excise officials. As s. protest against the regulations the merchants kept the bazaars closed for a fortnight, and business has a standstill. A number of leading protesters have been arrested.
