SWIMMING.
AN AUCKLAND PROTEST. The Auckland centre of the Swimming Association passed unanimously a resolution making the strongest protest' to the Dominion Council against the uncalled-for personal attack by Messrs O'Neill and O'Brien on Mr Fernandez in connection with the Australian swimmers' visit, and recorded the fullest confidence in Messrs Fernandez arid Cliffe, to whose efforts much of the success of the visit was due. It instructed the Centre's delegates to the Council to move that Messrs O'Neill and O'Brien be asked to withdraw unreservedly the statements made, with the same publicity.
