Sir Alfred Pickford, Dominion Overseas Commissioner, Boy Scouts, left Wellington by the Manuka for Sydney, en route to London. Sir Harry Lauder was accorded a civic reception on his arrival at Dunedin. At the railway station he was met by a pipe band, which headed a procession to the hotel. A presentation was made to Mr J. Endean, a trustee of the Auckland Rugby Football League, by members of the league in view of Mr Endean's impending departure on a health trip to America. At a pleasant function at the league rooms Air Endean was handed a handsome travelling rug by the chairman of the league, Mr W. J. Hammili, on behalf of the members.
