Some amusement was caused at Hie Concilation Council proceedings which were held in a room in the new Parliamentary Buildings at Wellington (says the Post) as the result of the actions of llie electric clock which had gone “on strike” at about ten minutes to eleven. At 11.35 it suddenly commenced to tick its way to catch up the right time, the minute, hand ticking minutes into eternity at the rate of half a dozen par second. “Wc wouldn't mind working at 3s. per hour by that, clock,” remarked an assessor amid laughter.
