PRIVILEGE ABUSED.

A complaint that the oonsent given to a representative of the Pocket Testament League to visit schools for the purpose of religious instruction had been grievously abused was made by the principal of the Training College to the Education Board to-day. It was stated that the representative in question had visited Kelbura school, and- addressed the children, and by an emotional effort and appeal to the cupidity of immature (Children had extracted from them written pledges In return for testaments. Teachers were thus placed in a very invidious position.

Members of " the board protested against what had taken place, one describing the extracting of pledges from children of immature age as ridiculous. No authority had been given for that, and the mark had been overstepped. A motion was carried instructing the headmaster that the privilege to the Testament League representative was given for one day only.
