£20,000,000 ESTATE.

The Countess of Suffolk filed in the Superior Court ,at Chicago a ; suit against her brother, Joseph Loiter, on behalf of herself and her three children, the Earl of Suffolk, Cecil John Arthur Howard, and Greville Howard. The countess, who before her marriage was Marguerite Leiter, charges her brother with mismanagement of tlie £20,000,000 estate left by their father, Mr Levi Leiter, of Washington, and specifically with not accounting for £40,000. She asks that tlie management of the estate he removed from Joseph’s hands. The suit is directed also against the countess’s sister, Mrs Nancy Lathrop Carver Campbell, wife of Colonel Colin Campbell. In it are named, for technical reasons, thirteen other, co-defen-dants, including the Marquis Curz.on and ids daughters. (Tlie Marquis Curzon’s first wife was a sister of the countess). The countess charges her brother with having pledged securities forming part of tlie estate to promote his own private enterprise, with refusing to render an account of tlie estate, and with manipulating the records so as to make them “beyond intelligent scrutiny.”
