— — ■ • VVAIKATO SUCCESSES. By Telegraph.—Special to Times. PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. At Lhe Mahawatu Championship Poultry Show, the premier fixture in tlie Dominion which was opened today, Waikalo exhibitors competed wilh .marked success. In the utility Black Orpington, Mr C. A. Cuming (Hamilton), despite keen competition, secured first prize for both cock and hen classes, defeating the bird that won the New Zealand Challenge Shield at Levin last week. Mr C. Laffcrty (Frankton) competed successfully in modern game, and Mr C. Pollard (Hamilton) won two first' prizes in Muscovy ducks. Mr A. C. Yclland (Huntly) won the main Rhode Island Red awards, including the club shield.
