LOWER WAIKATO RUGBY LEAGUE.
The competitions were continued last Saturday and some good games resulted.
In the senior round at Orini, Huntly defeated the local team by 30 points to 2. .
Taupiri, with a sadly depleted team, took the field against Ngaruawahia on the laiter's ground. In spite of the fact that more than half their team were juniors, the Taupiri players put up a good fight, and after a bard game were beaten by 26 points to 9. ■The .spores are no indication of the game, as Taupiri had 'all the worst of the luck.
In : the junior round, Rotowaro, a fast-improving team, beat NgaruawaJiia by 8 points to 3. The Huntly Colts, a fine .compact team, beat the Taupiri Colts by 24 points to nil. In the 'senior round Huntly is now leading with Ngaruawahia and Taupiri a tic for second place. In the junior round, Rotowaro, Huntly and Taupiri are all in it, and the contest for the final honours should be very close between these three teams. The Huntly Colts have so far been unbeaten and must win the competition. There is also a likelihood of a school competition being inaugurated.
