N.Z. FARMERS’ UNION.
CAMBRIDGE BRANCH. A well attended meeting of Uie Cambridge brancli of the N.Z. Farmers' Union was held in the hall at liautapu on Monday evening.. Mr R. Fcisst, president of the branch, occupied the chair. Herd Testing. Mr A. Schmitt, Waikato Sub-Pro-vincial Organiser, addressed the meeting on tlie scheme of Herd Testing as carried out by Iho Waikato Farmers’ Union,Herd Testing Association. Keen interest was displayed by those present and it was decided to proceed with the formation of Herd Testing Group in Hie district. Dairy Produce Export Control Act. The Dairy Produce Export Control Act was fully discussed, and on the motion' of Mr W. Harlnitt, seconded by tlie chairman, the following resolution was unanimously passed. “This representative meeting of Dariy Farmers is of the strong opinion Unit the principal of the Producers' Co-operative control of export dairy produce, as embodied in the proposed Dairy Produce Export Control Act, is directly in Iho best interests of the producers, and indirectly, the welfare of the Dominion, and urge the Dairy Committee in whoso hands the matter is now left, to use tlioil- best endeavours to insure the passage of the Act during the pending session of Parliament.
