CLAIM FOR AN OVERCOAT.
RACING CLUB’S LIABILITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. DUNEDIN, Tuesday. An unusual case was hoard at tho Magistrate’s Court for loss of an overcoat which was lodged in the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s cloakroom on February 3, the first day of the meeting, and was not claimed till the second day* It was claimed for the defence that the club only contracted to look after the coats for a day, and after that the club became the involuntary bailee. The magistrate, in awarding tile plaintiff £4, held that an agreement made on the first day covered the whole meeting.
