HAMILTON SALE. The Farmers’ Go-operative tionccring Cm, Ltd, Hamilton, report: At Hamilton sale yesterday we had again a small yarding of cattle and a moderate yarding of sheep and pigs. Competition for beef was distinctly brighter, and values ruled higher than the week previous. Extra heavy cows made to £8 15s, heavy to £5 ss. medium weights £3 2s to £4 ss. Only a few store cattle were penned. The advertised dairy cows were not as forward in calf as the requirements of dairymen demand at this time of the year, and on that account met with but dull competition, the highest gure reached being £5; others sold from £2 upward. Competition for fat sheep showed considerable improvement, heavy wethers making to 35s lOd, medium weights 31s 9d, good ewes 28s 6d, forward ewes 21s 3d. Lambs were not quite as brisk as usual. Very forward sorts made 21s 6d, but not under competition; good stores 17s. A line of aged and backward ewes, r.w.r, sold privately at 17 s 6d. Pigs were yarded in smaller numbers than usual, very few bacon pigs coming forward. These met with, a good demand, prices ranging from £3 4s to £3 16s; porkers were yarded la good numbers and sold readily from £1 15s to £2 13s; very few store pigs were penned; these met with a better demand than at previous sales, slips making from 18s to 255; weaners from 8s to 14s; sows in'pig mada from £4 12s 6d to £5 10s. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co, Ltd., Hamilton, reports-> At Frankton yards on Tuesday. 22nd instant, we had a small yarding. Beef sold freely at improved rates and mutton was a trifle firmer. We quote: Fat heifei's, £4 14s, medium cows £4 to £4 Bs, light steers £5 ss, store cows £1 5s to £1 Bs, yearling Shorthorn heifers £1 6s to £1 12s, Jersey-cross lieifers £1 11s, dairy < cows to £B, medium fat wethers 335. Pigs: An average yarding of both fat and store pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with last week. Heavy baedners £3 9s to £3 17s, medium baconers £2 10s to £3 ss, good porkers £2 to £2 ss, unfinished £1 6s 6d to 355, slips 19s to £2 6s 6d, good weaners 10s to 15s, sows with litters up to £5. ... -
