OHAUPO.
A Toy Evening. Prior to and in aid of the forthcoming bazaar, a "toy evening" was held at Mr C. Edwards' residence, "Abboskavilla." Mrs Edwards proved herself an accornplished hostess and played no small part in what will long be remembered by those who had the good fortune lo be present as a very pleasant and happy gathering. Progressive euchre occupied the early part of the evening. Mrs B. O'Connor won the ladies' prize, and the booby prizes with full honours were conferred upon Mrs E. J. Edwards and Mr Johnston. A sumptuous supper was followed by musical items, in which Mesdames Nobles, Edwards and Forsyth, and Misses Turnwald and Mr Smillie took part. Miss Olive Edwards' rendition of "Sing Me to Sleep" was greatly appreciated. A large collection of toys received will go far towards making a great success of the toy department at the bazaar, which is to be held on May 4 and 5.
